The purification of tantalum wire blanks is an important step in the production process. This is usually achieved by refining the raw material through multiple melting and electron bombardment of metallurgical grade tantalum powder to ensure the purity of the tantalum wire. The forming stage may include steps such as isostatic pressing, vertical melting sintering, and rolling to shape the tantalum material into a shape suitable for drawing. During the drawing process, keep the mold completely immersed in lubricating oil to prevent excessive temperature from causing surface oxygenation and carbonization, which can affect the quality of tantalum wire. Due to the active reaction between tantalum and oxygen, the heat treatment process must be carried out in a protective coating or in an inert gas atmosphere to avoid oxidation and embrittlement. ‌‌‌‌
